Awards (and a strange yet entrancing video)

I’m probably one of the last bloggers to mention this at this point, but the ALA has announced the winners of their children’s and YA awards, including Newbery winner Rebecca Stead (for the awesome When You Reach Me) and Printz winner Libba Bray (for the equally awesome Going Bovine). I don’t really have that much to say about the awards – so many other great bloggers have already said everything I think and more – except that the win for When You Reach Me doesn’t surprise me at all, and Going Bovine‘s win does, a bit.  Mostly this is just an excuse for me to post this amazing video straight from the bizarre and wonderful mind of Libba Bray:

Bovine enlightenment thanks to the Comment Challenge!

  2. “You can smell it”! Thanks, I hadn’t seen that video. And based on that, and the time I saw her at a signing, her acceptance speech is going to be awesome.

  3. Thanks for posting this! I hadn’t seen it before, and I just finished reading Going Bovine.
